President of Salymbekov University Took Part in an International Seminar on Inclusive Higher Education
On June 12–13, 2025, the President of Salymbekov University, Amangeldi Zhumadilov, took part in a two-day seminar on the development of inclusive higher education, organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Kazakhstan and the HERE expert team, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and funded by the European Union.
The seminar was held at Astana IT University.
As a Higher Education Reform Expert (HERE) representing the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Zhumadilov presented the experience of Salymbekov University in developing inclusive practices.
The seminar gathered representatives from over 30 universities in Kazakhstan, international experts from the EU (Croatia), and officials from ministries and relevant institutions.
The sessions covered key topics, including:
European experience in addressing the social dimension in higher education;
EU inclusive policy, its principles, tools, and evaluation indicators;
approaches to Universal Design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL);
community engagement practices;
student wellbeing and support systems;
mechanisms for implementing inclusion at institutional and national levels.
The seminar served as an excellent platform for professional exchange and for strengthening international cooperation in the field of inclusive education.
